Information You Provide
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that supplies results. Bluffton Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those searches on its own servers. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them only to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Hosting services may create standard logs that include an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand general use. Cookies or similar tools can support ordinary analytics and, where applicable, advertising measurement.
How Data Is Used
Data is used to operate and secure the service, diagnose issues, measure aggregate traffic, and improve the reference pages. We do not sell visitor lists or create individual visitor profiles.
External Services
Links may lead to Beaufort County, Town of Bluffton, South Carolina, library, archive, and third-party search services. The privacy terms of each destination control information submitted there. That includes sponsored search results supplied by another company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers process the server data needed to run the service. Analytics or advertising providers can receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information only when required by valid legal process or otherwise allowed by law.
Data Safeguards
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept only for the purposes described here. Because there are no site accounts, Bluffton Residents Directory does not maintain visitor passwords or account profiles.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor sent information to us, and we will remove it.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal data a website keeps. South Carolina's Family Privacy Protection Act, Title 30, Chapter 2, governs defined personal information held by state agencies; it does not give this private reference control over County, Town, or State public records. Because we retain little data, we can review our contact mailbox and relevant logs after a request through the Contact page. Record-removal requests belong with the office that holds the record.
Policy Changes
Any revision will be posted here. Continued use after a revised policy is posted indicates acceptance of that version.
